How to choose dies? And why is that so important?

To have the corresponding dies for any fasteners is crucial. You don't want any unexpected damages to your rivets or buttons, as well as your products. It could be troublesome when this happens because reinstalling rivets or other fasteners are not that easy, so much unlike sewing or sew-on buttons.

Imagine your product is well-made, and you just failed on the last step of installing the fasteners. That ruins everything you've done, causing deformation, defects, functionality loss, or fabric damages. Some of these mistakes are even irreversible.

There are many different types of dies you can choose. But without knowing which is more suitable for your cases, you may end up having trouble when the fasteners are being installed. It's always the best you can make contact with us so that we can suggest.  

The dies above are made for rivets. In general, there are four types. TYPE A is for nipple rivets. You can use it to install our nipple rivets in different sizes from 6 mm up to 12 mm. For example, if you need to install the nipple rivets and they come in both 8 mm and 9.5 mm, you need one top die only.

TYPE B is the most advanced top die for setting rivets. It functions the best when we compare it with TYPE C and D. But some of the rivets are not compatible with spring-type due to the shapes or sizes. TYPE C is the generalist because dies for most of the rivets can be made with the rubber rings. The only downside of using a rubber ring is durability. It will lose its elasticity when it gets old or after we use it so many times. Unlike the spring type, we can easily replace the worn-out spring with a new one. TYPE D is more for individual cases, similar to TYPE C.

 
Dies above are made for jeans buttons, assembled with the alloy clips and the iron springs rather than rubber rings. They are the most durable dies. If you maintain them well, they can serve you a lifetime.


Choosing the right bottom dies is also very important. TYPE A is made for jeans rivets or buttons that require self-piercing. But for precise installing, TYPE A might not be ideal unless your press machine provides the additional laser pointer. TYPE B requires hole punching before the installation as well as TYPE C. TYPE C only works on the rivets that come with hollow brass tacks. TYPE D is for individual cases, usually for up-side-down rivets or dome capped tacks.
